• Set up research network to co-ordinate APEC related research activities at the University.

  • Sponsor research monographs on fundamental policy issues such as anti-dumping, rules of origin, and competition policy. To ensure quality, the monographs undergo a referral process by external experts.

  • Bid for research projects commissioned by the government and other public bodies (for example, build an economic forecasting model of the Hong Kong economy, develop policy simulation models and construct economic freedom and competitiveness indices for economies in the region).

  • Invite distinguished scholars in the field to give seminars and public lectures so to enhance ties between the University and the community as well as to improve the quality of public policy debates and discussions of APEC issues.

  • Organize workshops and luncheon talks on policy issues for government officials and business people.
